Sophie Thuault-Restituito, PhD, PharmD serves as Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Center for Innovative Exposomics, where she works closely with Director Dr. Gary Miller to advance the Center’s strategic vision and lead major collaborative initiatives.
Originally trained in neuroscience, Sophie was introduced to the field of exposomics after joining Dr. Gary Miller’s team. Attending the Banbury Exposomics Consortium at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in December of 2023 sparked her enthusiasm for the field and its collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. Since then, she has played a key role in launching the ARPA-H IndiPHARM program and the NEXUS Coordinating Center, helping build partnerships and infrastructure that accelerate exposomics research.
Before joining the Center for Innovative Exposomics, Sophie held several leadership positions at Columbia University and spent 13 years at NYU Langone Health, first as a scientist and later in research operations and administration. She earned her PharmD and PhD from the University of Montpellier, France, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at University College London.
Fun Fact:
Sophie discovered running later in life and now runs half marathons to channel her endless energy. She also volunteers alongside her son as a running and biking guide for athletes with disabilities through Achilles International.
