Elliott J. Price is an Assistant Professor in the Human Exposome Research Group and Head of the Biomarker Analytical Laboratories (BAL) at RECETOX, Masaryk University. His team focuses on the application of mass spectrometry to measure proteins, metabolites, and chemical agents in clinical studies and population cohorts. He also leads the Laboratory Working Group of EIRENE ( European Infrastructure for Human Exposome Research).
The main goals of Dr. Price’s research are to:
- support the early warning and identification of chemical risks;
- scale molecular phenotyping for precision health; and
- advance functional exposomics to understand the mechanisms underlying phenotype development.
To achieve these goals, his team has embedded Open Science and FAIR data principles at the core of its research ethos, developing and sharing analytical resources ( https://zenodo.org/communities/rcx-balri) and data-processing tools and workflows ( https://github.com/RECETOX).
The team contributes to numerous international initiatives, including IHEN, EHEN, and PARC, and supports service provision through the Czech nodes of ELIXIR and EIRENE. Particular emphasis is placed on scaling the analytical services of the EIRENE network through multi-site adoption of harmonised methods, leveraging full analytical automation and reproducible data-processing workflows implemented in Galaxy. These efforts aim to establish exposomics capabilities at a scale and level of interoperability comparable to genomics, enabling the integration of molecular exposure profiles with other biological and health data.
